We do tend to get distracted as often as possible, sometimes this is not a conscious effort and most times we just drift into it, especially when you have email and social media alerts enabled on your phones.

I do tend to turn off the volume of my phone and remove from vibration, shut down my Facebook and Twitter page so I can get so much work done.

Here are a few tools that can help you be more productive this year.


Wunderlist:  is the easiest way to get stuff done. Whether you’re planning a holiday, sharing a shopping list with a partner or managing multiple work projects, Wunderlist is here to help you tick off all your personal and professional to-dos. Its features includes public and collaborative lists and real time sync. 

It is available on all devices: iPad, iPhone, Windows, Android, Mac and Web.

Evernote: take notes, track tasks, and save things you find online. It also sync everything between your phone and computer automatically. You can start working on one device and continue on another without ever missing a word.

It is available for iOS, Windows and Android platforms.

Trello: acts as a vision board so you don’t get bored with long writing but instead make use of sticky notes with pictures to complete your projects from inception to conclusion.

Trello lets you see everything about your project in a single glance, It’s a list of lists filled with cards, used with a team or by yourself.

Asana: is a collaborative tool that allows you to manage, monitor and work with your team in one place. You can form groups and coordinate with different teams from one platform. A lot of back and forth emails are cut off.

Documents and attachments are sent as instant messages and you are able to keep track of every piece of work and details.

NetVibes: this is one of my favourites. It is a dashboard that allows you to see everything that’s happening, 24/7, all in one dashboard. For heavy users of Social Media platforms, this will be helpful for you.

It monitors your brand and competitors, measures campaign results, and visualize ROI using the metrics that matter to you. It collaborate with your team and share insights automatically. I do hope that these tools will enhance your productivity in the year.
